Change request CR-07Example

The client said, on Tuesday's call:

"The CSV export also needs the audit fields."

  1. RequirementR2 - CSV export changed
  2. Tasks2 reopened, 1 added - Sam
  3. MilestoneBeta: Oct 30 → Nov 3 +3 days
  4. Status reportLine for Friday:CR-07 approved: audit fields added to export. Beta moves to Nov 3.
One change, logged once. Everything it touches is updated, including the line the client reads on Friday.

The client adds audit fields on Tuesday. Friday's status report still says the beta is October 30.

The Golden Thread keeps your spec, plan, milestones and status report on one record, so a change you log once shows up everywhere it matters. In development - the early look is free.

Where does it break first for you?

Thank you. I have your answer.

If you left an email, I'll write when the early look is ready.

The same Friday email

One change, logged once. The tasks, the milestone and the line the client reads all come from that record.

How it works

Four steps. You stay in charge; it keeps the links.

  1. Start from the spec.Paste the requirements document and get a clean, numbered list of requirements.
  2. Link each requirement to the work.Tie every requirement to its tasks, owner and milestone - or map in the plan you already have.
  3. Log changes against the requirement. When the client changes something, record it once and see what it affects.
  4. Write the status report from it.Your weekly update reads from the same record, so it matches what is being built.

Straight answers

Is it ready? Not yet. I'm building it now, and early-look people get it first and help shape it.

Why not just ask ChatGPT or Claude? You can, for one document on one afternoon. The hard part comes in week six, after the twelfth change: a chat answer stands on its own and does not remember which requirement a task came from or what the client agreed last Tuesday. The Golden Thread is that memory.

Is it a new app I have to learn? No. It runs on tools you already use - Notion and the AI assistant you already have.

Does the early look cost anything? No.
